MISSION CENTER
As a church we have embarked on the journey of reaching and serving this next generation for Christ. What had begun as a vision over seven years ago has finally begun to solidify over this past year. As a member of International Christian Church for over the past 22 years, I have seen the growth and evolution of a small Filipino congregation to a large multicultural, thriving church. This growth has been built upon our leaders’ continued support and concern for children and their families.
This has been evident in several different ways:
Our church has committed itself to offering a free vacation bible school to the local community with the attendance approaching 150 youth.
Friday youth bible studies continue to be an outreach within our local community with sometimes close to 100 students in attendance. A large portion of these youth do not attend church in any way.
Our leadership recentlyfelt led to support a fulltime minister to help shepherd this next generation for years to come.
Our church has recentlystarted a Wednesday Night Service called ReWire and a new Children’s Interactive Service called Otto’s Scrapyard that has led many new families and their children to our church.
A wellness ministry named WitnessThru Fitness was recentlyformed and has already run in three major races in Hampton Roads. As part of this evangelistic outreach, our church hosted Jon Rankin, an Olympic Marathon runner to come and give an inspirational speech.
Our church currently enjoys the fellowship of a large diverse group from many nations such as Malaysia, India, Mexico, Philippines and, of course, America.
With the abundance of great things happening within our church, the leadership of ICC feels that this is the appropriate time to build a Mission Center that will equip us to reach all who God will continue to bring our way. The cost is not cheap, almost 1.5 million dollars, but we feel it is well worth it to assure future generations will have a place to find and experience God.
Would you consider supporting what God is doing within our church to help reach and equip this young generation for Christ? As always, we appreciate your prayers and support in these exciting times.
Thank you and God bless,
Pastor Michael Rhoad, ICC Associate Pastor
